GATE Architecture Material


Only countries that have signed the World Heritage Convention, pledging to protect their natural and cultural heritage, can submit nomination proposals for properties on their territory to be considered for inclusion in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Rani ki vav, in the Patan district of Gujarat, is described as a stepped corridor, compartmented with pillared multi-storeyed pavilions. Originally the monument was estimated to have 800 sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses, apsaras and miscellaneous themes, of which nearly 400 have survived out .

Its a world heritage site.
